Monterey Peninsula's Thrasher Takes Top Spot in NorCal Multis; Posts NorCal Top 10 Marks
Women's NorCal Heptathlon Results
Salinas, Calif. - Monterey Peninsula sophomore Lillian Thrasher set the top heptathlon mark of the season and put her name in the NorCal record books as she took the top spot on the podium at the NorCal Multis on Wednesday afternoon.
Thrasher scored 4596, the best heptathlon score in the state this season, winning the 100 meter hurdles and high jump by a wide margin. Her time of 14.73 in the 100 meter hurdles ranks third all-time in NorCal heptathlon history, while her day one score of 2965 is good for eighth all-time.
Thrasher bested her competition in the 100 meter hurdles by over .5 seconds, while jumping .15 meters higher than the runner-up. She finished second in the long jump (5.04 meters) and javelin (30.20 meters) and third in the 200 meters (26.30).
American River's Kira Comfort came in second, posting a score of 4210 and taking the javelin medal with a throw of 36.76, while Modesto's Larissa Hackley rounded out the top three with a 4135 mark.
After multis competition, Modesto leads the way heading into the rest of regional action with 11 team points. Monterey Peninsula is close behind with 10, while American River has nine.
Full regional championship action picks back up with the NorCal Championship Trials on May 1 at Santa Rosa Junior College and SoCal Championship Trials on May 2 at Bakersfield College.
