(FAIRFIELD) -- No player has ever reached the level that Irvine Valley College outside hitter Olivia Aguilar achieved Sunday afternoon. The 6-foot-1 sophomore delivered a state championship final match record 30 kills as she rallied the Lasers from a set down to capture the 2017 CCCAA State Women's Volleyball title in defeating San Joaquin Delta, 23-25, 25-16, 25-20, 25-16, at Solano College. In the process, her hitting helped Irvine Valley complete a perfect season at 27-0.
Irvine Valley, MiraCosta, Canyons and surprising No. 13 seed San Diego City College have advanced with Southern California Regional Round 2 victories while Cabrillo, Feather River, San Joaquin Delta and second-year program Folsom Lake made it through the Northern California Regionals with wins Saturday night. The eight teams will participate in the CCCAA State Women's Volleyball Championships on Dec. 2-3 at Solano College.
